My First Quilt
I recently got to do a trunk show at a local guild, and I always start them out by showing my first quilt. It's a wonderful quilt that I still love, but it has sooo many things wrong with it, and is a perfect example of "if I had known then what I know now, I would not have started it" :-) But it always elicits laughs and is a great ice breaker at the start of my trunk show.
A couple of years ago, I got to participate in the "My First Quilt" blog series on DevotedQuilter.com, and after this last trunk show, I thought I really should put a link to that blog post here.
So, here it is, My First Quilt interview with Leanne of Devoted Quilter.

I challenge you to find any actually square squares in the little blue nine patches ;-)
And I say that to point out that we all started at the beginning. I wouldn't have this quilt any other way, it is a great reminder of where I started and how much my technique and skill have improved over the years. But it's also always funny to look at the wonky details.
Hi Inez, the pattern is called a Double Nine Patch, it’s a traditional block that has many tutorials and patterns online. The pattern I followed was in the book “Quilts! Quilts!! Quilts!!!” by Diana McClun and Laura Nownes.
Is there a pattern for that quilt. I love it.
